A.R.T.®
State of the Art Soft Tissue Treatment for Athletic Injuries and Repetitive Strain
Active Release Techniques (A.R.T.) is a patented, state-of-the-art
soft tissue system that treats problems with muscles, tendons,
ligaments, fascia and nerves.
A.R.T. is NOT the same as massage therapy. It is a movement-based massage technique in which damaged tissues are treated by combining precisely directed tension with very specific patient movements. A.R.T. breaks down the scar tissue that forms when a tissue is injured or overused.
A.R.T. works especially well on injuries that have not been responding to other treatments. Examples include tennis elbow, plantar fasciitis, shin splints, IT Band pain, rotator cuff/shoulder injury, sciatica, carpal tunnel syndrome, and chronic neck and back pain.
Dr. Sarah Brise is a full-body certified A.R.T. provider and has been certified since 2008.
Dr. Laura McCall has also received training in A.R.T. and both doctors
have provided A.R.T. treatment at Penticton Ironman Canada.
